Today more than ever we find ourselves staring at an assortment of artificial light sources. With so many of us using computers at work, computer eye strain has become a major job-related complaint. Friends for Sight encourages everyone to take steps to protect and preserve their sight.

The Facts

  • About 80 percent of U.S. adults report using digital devices for more than two hours per day
  • Approximately one in three adults report eye strain, eye twitching, dry eyes, headaches, blurred vision
  • Collectively known as “Computer Vision Syndrome” (CVS), symptoms can leave you feeling like you are seeing double or with a debilitating headache.

  • "The volunteers & doctors who were at our SightFest were incredible. Everyone was professional, kind & attentive. In our school district, there were over 100 students examined, 22 were referred for follow-up care and 81 students received glasses. It was one of the most worthwhile projects we have ever done.”
