Home Eye Safety Tips

Fall has arrived! It is a popular time for home repairs before winter hits. Friends for Sight wants to remind you that one in four eye injuries happen during home repair and to take safety measures to reduce your risk of eye injury.

Each year, nearly 50 percent of the annual 2.5 million eye injuries occur at home; that's more injuries than those that occur in school and the work place – combined. The most common places for eye injury are the garden and the garage. There are steps you can take, both indoors and outdoors, to help protect your eyes and body from unnecessary injury.
